NEW ADDITION

A Curriculum Based Multimedia Lecture Series

 on

Metamorphic Petrology

See video

Introducing an new concept in Earth Science teaching, Dr. H. Thomas, Department of Applied Geology, Faculty of Engineering, Dr.H.S.G. Central University, Sagar (M.P.) has recorded 23 lecture series on metamorphic petrology based on Curriculum of B.Sc (Hons.), M.Sc./M.Tech Applied geology, right from definition of metamorphic petrology up to the comparison of individual rocks like pelitic, basic, calcareous and ultrabasic etc. in a multimedia platform.

This multimedia lecture series on metamorphic petrology is very beneficial for UG & PG students of Geology/Applied Geology for their better understanding in metamorphic petrology. It is indeed required at the time of teaching and learning to introduce multimedia aspects for practical approaches. The University Grant Commission (UGC) and Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC) has continuously been contributing in the mission of education through video lecture series and others “Syllabus based” programmes for the most popular “Gyandarshan” telecast for UGC-CEC in country wide class room on Doordarshan (DD1) and their own T.V. “Vyas” channel (Higher Education Channel of India), also now available on Doordarshan DTH, service.

It is also worth mentioning that Mr Pankaj Tiwari, Senior Producers of EM2RC, Sagar has directed the Video Lecture Series. This lecture series contains 23 lectures, which are well shot and edited mixed with interesting graphics, animation and live visuals of the subjects.

This multimedia Lecture series on metamorphic petrology (MP) cover the following portion of the metamorphic petrology:

MP1: Definition of metamorphism, metamorphic process, and classification based on plate tectonic setting etc;

MP2: Factor/variable responsible for metamorphism, zone, grade and facies of metamorphism;
